The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin counties awarded a record number of scholarships totaling $601,550 to 94 inspiring students at a two-night celebration, held May 13 and 14 at the Community Foundations headquarters in West Palm Beach. As the economic downturn has a severe impact on higher education for many college-bound students, the Community Foundation continues to serve as one of the largest local providers of scholarships, vital to the educational opportunity of many outstanding students in Palm Beach and Martin counties. Since the program’s inception in 1983, the Community Foundation has presented more than $5.1 million in scholarships to over 1,300 students in the dual county area.
